About

Devala Gorrick’s first professional experience began with Miami FC, a USL Division 1 team. He received coaching from former Brazilian World Cup ’94 winner known as Zinho. He started 4 matches and posted 1 shutout.
Gorrick then continued his professional career at Bayamon FC in Puerto Rico. He started 10 games, posted 5 shutouts with a .70 GAA. He played an important role in leading Bayamon to be Puerto Rico Soccer League Champions in 2009, winning on aggregate 3–2 over Atletico de San Juan FC.[4]

Next he signed a one-year contract with Thailand football club Pattaya United FC for their 2010 season. He played a number of matches during this time and received experience playing in Thailands top league.

Following his season at Pattaya United he signed a 2 year contract with Thai league team Airforce United FC. He was the starting goalkeeper for this team during their 2011 and 2012 seasons. He played a total of 79 matches over the 2 year span, and posted 26 shutouts total.

In 2012  He was given a number of awards including being selected for the Thai Premier League All Star team and was chosen to start in a charity match vs the Thai National Team. The club wanted to renew his contract following his 2 successful seasons with the club but he declined the offer.

Following a trial for the Swedish club IK Frej, Gorrick was offered a 2-year contract, on the recommendation of Goalkeeper Coach and former Swedish National team Goalkeeper Magnus Hedman. He immediately established himself as the club's first choice keeper. In his second competitive start for the club, he starred against Swedish giants Malmo FF pulling off numerous great saves, including a penalty save from Simon Thern. Following the match, Gorrick was described as "excellent" by Malmo FF captain Jiloan Hamad.
During the first half of the 2013 season Devala started 15 regular season games, along with 3 Svenska Cupen matches. A minor injury kept Devala from playing the last few games of the season.

Gorrick has yet to be capped for the United States international team; however he was invited to train with the team in 2009 to help them prepare for the 2010 World Cup.

In 2014 Gorrick joined the expansion team Ottawa Fury F.C in Canada.
